The board members of the Worldwide Broker Network (WBN), an insurance broking network representing USD25bn of insurance premium placed annually, will meet in Singapore from 15th to 17th July to explore development opportunities in Asia. Owners and Chief Executive Officers of some of the world's largest independent brokers selected Singapore for its 2010 annual board meeting, and will convene to discuss strategic issues and visit insurance carriers and multi-national clients with operations in Singapore.
Says Lawrence Adam, Chief Operating Officer of Sterling Knight, the Singapore representative of the WBN, "We believe that overseas brokers of the WBN could contribute significantly to the growth of Singapore as a centre for global insurance. Since our acceptance into the WBN in November 2006, we have worked with the network to put into place over 80 insurance programs for clients of our partner brokers within the network, and this continues to grow."
The meeting's theme will be "Insurance Business in Asia Today and Tomorrow" and will include seminars and presentations by insurance carriers in Singapore, as well as a visit to Lloyd's Asia. Says Damien Honan, WBN Chairman "We have board members from Europe, North and South America and they are very interested in the region and the developing impact it will have on their brokerages and clients."
This meeting is partly sponsored by Sterling Knight and Singapore registered insurer First Capital Insurance Ltd.
